Sunny Verghese and the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore in Russia visited dairy farms in Arshinovka and Narovchat

On May 24 Her Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore in Russia Lim Kheng Hua and CEO of Olam International Sunny Verghese visited the Penza region. The people of position viewed dairy farms built as part of the joint project with "Rusmolco" and met the Governor of the Penza region Vasiliy Bochkarev.

 The meeting of Lim Kheng Hua, Sunny Verghese, and Vasiliy Bochkarev was held in the Governor’s residence. First Deputy Chairman of the Government Vladimir Volkov and Deputy Chairman of the Government Viacheslav Orel took part in the meeting on the part of the region. “Rusmolco” was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Naum Babaev, CEO Sumanta Kumar De, and Deputy CEO Vladimir Reznichenko. During the meeting the parties discussed dairy farming development plans. 

In the afternoon Sunny Verghese viewed dairy farms in Narovchat and Niznelomovskiy areas that were built as part of the joint project of Olam and "Rusmolco". The dairy farm in village Arshinovka of Niznelomovskiy areas is the first project being executed by joint efforts of both companies. Today the farm designed for 4600 stalls has been half populated by livestock. After reaching the full capacity the farm will produce 120 tons of milk per day or 46 000 tons of milk per year.

The guests got acquainted with operations of the farms and commended the level of technological infrastructure. Sunny George Verghese and the Governor also communicated with the Farm managers and specialists and praised the management systems and arrangement of work.

Sunny Verghese visited Russia for the second time, but it was his first visit to the Penza region and to the joint venture “Rusmolco”. From 2011 Olam holds 75% equity of the leading milk producing company in the Volga region - "Rusmolco" that plans to build a number of livestock farms in the region.
