Rusmolco imported a large batch of the dairy cattle from the Netherlands

A scheduled delivery of heifers of Holstein Friesian breed to the complex of Rusmolco,   Penza region, makes up 500 heads. Rusmolco 's experts selected the best heifers in the Netherlands.

On June 11, 2014 the Russian Dairy Company (Rusmolco) imported a large batch of the Dutch cattle to its farm located in the village Arshinovka, Nizhnelomovsky area of the Penza region.

The Russian Dairy Company (Rusmolco) imported a large batch of the Dutch cattle to its farm located in the village Arshinovka, Nizhnelomovsky area of the Penza region. The number of heifers supplied is 500 heads. 

Representatives of the Dutch partner delivered the cattle to Penza for 4 days by comfortable two-story cattle trucks.

All the previous batches of cattle Rusmolco was compelled to buy in the USA due to the ban on import of European cattle to the territory of the Russian Federation. The delivery of animals by ships across the Atlantic Ocean takes some weeks against several days by trucks across Europe. For that batch Rusmolco’s experts personally selected the best heifers from farms in Holland. Animals are now in the second half of pregnancy. The first calvings are expected in October - November, 2014. 

“Animals feel well. At the moment they are place under the quarantine for 30 days”, - told Vladimir Reznichenko, deputy CEO of the Russian Dairy Company. “During this period our experts will conduct diagnostic testings and undertake prevention measures for animals. Today the farm in Arshinovka village is in the stage of completing of its own herd. Taking into account the arrived cattle, the current number of livestock at the farm is 2300 heads."

The total capacity of the farm in Arshinovka is 4600 heads of the cattle. The company plans to deliver 2500 more heads of breeding cattle according to the schedule. Investments into the Arshinovsky dairy complex made nearly 2, 5 billion rubles. The enterprise is unique on its scale. The area of the farm is 45 hectares. It is comprised of 5 cowsheds, 2 milking parlors, a complicated system of manure removal, a warehouse for forage and machinery fleet. By the end of 2014 the herd of the cattle is planned to increase up to 4600 heads.  The specialists expect to get a milk yield of 10 000 tons per 1 cow a year. As soon as the farm reaches its full capacity, the complex will produce 120 tons of milk a day.
