Rusmolco had prepared over 300 000 tons of feeds during the harvesting campaign 2020

The Russian Dairy Company (subsidiary of Olam International Singapore), leading producer of raw milk in the Penza region and one of the largest in the country, has increased the volume of forage as per results of the harvesting campaign 2020. The company has prepared more than 300 000 tons of feeds for its farms, including haylage, hay, straw, silage, and high moisture corn. The harvested volume covers completely Rusmolco’s needs in high-quality feeds for its livestock for the period of 18 months.  

The feed provision lays a solid foundation for the dairy business of the Company: this will allow to fulfill plans for high quality milk production and manage the costs.

The specialists of the Russian Dairy Company put up 164 000 tons of annual and perennial grasses as haylage, increasing the volume of laying-in by 43% compared to 2019; 109 000 tons of green mass of the corn as silage, exceeding the previous year's figure by 21%; and 32 500 tons of corn as high moisture corn with increase of 16 % over the year. The company also harvested 8 000 tons of hay and 24 000 tons of straw, increasing the prepared volume (compared to 2019) by 2,2 and 1,5 times, respectively.

The harvesting operations were carried out in the following areas of the Penza region: Kuznetsk, Serdobsk, Narovchat, and Nizhniy Lomov. 110 people and 85 units of agricultural machinery from the world's leading manufacturers were involved in the harvesting and feed preparation campaign.

In total, during the campaign, Rusmolco harvested: 4 100 hectares of corn for silage with an average yield of 26,4 tons per hectare; 4 000 hectares of corn as high moisture corn with a yield of 8 tons per hectare; and 2 000 hectares of hay with a yield of 4,3 tons per hectare. This year the perennial grasses gave three cuts:  Rusmolco harvested more than 9 600 hectares of perennial grasses with an average yield of 12,8 tons per hectare.
