Rusmolco imports a new batch of heifers to its dairy farms

Rusmolco company continues to form a dairy herd at its dairy farms located in the Penza region.  At the moment, the company imports high productive cattle. Plans for 2016 are to buy 1000 heads of the Holstein-Friesian breed and to supply them to dairy farms in Nizhniy Lomov and  Narovchat areas.

The company imports heifers from the Netherlands. Also, Rusmolco will buy cattle from Russian breeding farms. The first batch of 300 heads will reach Rusmolco in the beginning of March.

Additionally, in 2016, 2100 heifers will be reared on Rusmolco’s own reproduction center located in Kuznetsk area. The first facilities of the center were put into operation in August 2015. That has already helped to reduce significantly the number of imported cattle and to put down logistics costs. So, in 2016 Rusmolco will import only 20% of heifers. The rest herd will be local (from Russia).

All the delivered heifers are of 5 - 7 months of pregnancy. The first newborn calves and then the first milk will appear in 2 - 3 months after arrival of heifers.
Scheduled supplies of the cattle will allow Rusmolco to complete the dairy for 4600 heads in Nizhniy Lomov area and substantially increase milk production in 2016.
