Rusmolco started the seed business

Rusmolco (a joint venture with the Singapore company Olam Int.) began to develop a new business line and entered the market as a producer and supplier of seed grains. The company has already invested over 300 million rubles in its development.

Seed production as a company's separate business activity came up due to the needs to provide the Rusmolco’s farms with high-quality seed material. Today, the company's capacity allows completely covering its own seed needs, as well as entering into contracts with customers from the other regions of the country.

The company has already sold about 2.3 thousand tons of spring and winter crops seeds worth more than 50 million rubles to enterprises of the Penza region and other areas of the Volga territory. In 2018, Rusmolco prepared 3.5 thousand tons of seeds for sowing within the holding and for sales.

A basis for seed production is Bashmakovo area, Penza region. A modern seed plant is built there; transport and logistics infrastructure is established. There are dryers and warehouses for storing finished products. A complete production chain allows developing a high-quality seed-growing direction. The land bank of the enterprise is 12 thousand hectares.

Rusmolco produces different varieties of seeds: cereal crops, leguminous crops, and small-seeded crops by means of a full cycle of technological operations: cleaning, sizing, seed dressing, inoculation and packaging. The production capacity of the farm is 10 tons per hour.

The plant is fitted with the most modern foreign and Russian equipment, which allows making seeds with high sowing qualities. The process is fully computerized. The company successfully cooperates with originators from Canada, Poland, France, and Germany.

The intensification of production, which implies the usage of high-yielding varieties adapted to local conditions, allows achieving better results compared to purchased seeds. The company strictly complies with the cultivation technologies, applies scientifically calculated doses of fertilizers and pesticides, and introduces the latest agro technological methods. All the delivered seeds are accompanied by a complete set of necessary documents.

Rusmolco plans to bring the seed plant to the designed capacity of 25 thousand tons per year, as well as further development of partnerships with the world breeding leaders.
